Our Rad Story
Hey, Rad Human. My name is Svetlana, and this company is named after the raddest soul I have ever known, my dog Rad.
Rad came into my life on a cloudy Sunday afternoon in Sausalito, after a movie about a dog made me cry hard enough to drive to a shelter that same week. The funny part is, I did not even like dogs. Then a dog named Rad walked up to me, tail wagging, and put his head on my knee. That was that. And no, I did not name him. He came with the name, three months after I had named my hat company. Some winks from the universe you do not question.
The hats started when I ordered a pretty cool hat on Etsy and thought, I could make this. So I did. People got a little obsessed, and somehow I sold over fifty custom hats in a few months. Rad Hats found their way into three boutiques, into a studio of their own in Marin, and onto the head of Michael Franti, one of my favorite musicians, who performed in his very own Rad Hat. That was sooooooo rad.
Every hat on this page was designed by Svetlana and made with love. Each one features a custom mantra commissioned for the Rad human who carries its story forward. Rad's spirit is stitched into every single one.
Life is rad, especially when we do what we love. It really is that simple.
